Membership Update
At the April 2012 board meeting, the SAH board made amendments to the SAH by-laws governing membership. The board elected to change membership from a calendar year schedule (January through December) to an anniversary schedule. All members will continue to receive membership services and access to SAH online resources for a full 12 months. Read More


FLW Collection Moves to NYC
Frank Lloyd Wright's archives, formally housed at Taliesin are now joining the collections of Columbia University and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. This joint stewardship agreement will allow for these historically important archives to be accessible to students, scholars, and the public. Read More

National Building Museum Prize
The National Building Museum has named Pulitzer Prize-winning architecture critic and SAH member Paul Goldberger as the Fourteenth Laureate of the Vincent Scully Prize, "for his lifetime work of encouraging thoughtful discourse and debate about the importance of design." Read More

Charnley-Persky House
The Charnley-Persky House is one of many sites open to the public for Open House Chicago. Come visit us between 10 am and 4 pm on the weekend of October 13-14. 

Call for Nominations for Editor of JSAH
SAH invites self-nominations for the next Editor of the JSAH to serve a three-year term: January 1, 2015 - December 31, 2017. In addition, the Editor is required to serve as Editor Designate beginning September 1, 2013. Read more

Fellowships
Applications are now being accepted for the following fellowships:

Edilia and François-Auguste de Montêquin Fellowship. The 2013 award will be for a junior scholar. Applications are due by September 28, 2012. 

HABS-SAH Sally Kress Tompkins Fellowship. This fellowship permits an architectural historian to work on a 12 week HABS project during the summer and consists of a $10,000 stipend. Applications open October 15 - December 14, 2012.

Charles E. Peterson Fellowship. This fellowship is offerered in partnership with the Athenaeum of Philadelphia to support the participation of a graduate student in the research and writing for a volume in the Buildings of the United States series. Applications open October 1, 2012 - January 2, 2013.
