This year, SAH launched the Conference Host program to help first-time conference attendees get oriented with the SAH Annual Conference and to familiarize them with the Society, its activities and offerings. There has been such a positive response from first-time conference attendees that we are in need of people to serve as Conference Hosts.
SAH invites experienced members to volunteer as Conference Hosts. They will be asked to meet the newcomers at the Opening Reception on Wednesday, April 9, and help them form new social circles by introducing them to other conference participants. While we hope that there will be plenty of common academic interests, there is no expectation from the hosts to serve as academic mentors.
SAH colleagues interested in volunteering and first-time attendees should mark the appropriate box on the conference registration form. If you have already registered for the conference and are interested in serving as a Conference Host, please email Beth Eifrig at
beifrig@sah.org. The necessary contact information for hosts and newcomers will be sent to the respective parties by mid-March. If you have questions regarding hosting duties, contact Zeynep Kezer at
