Tuition: $13,764 per term - M.A.; $13,764 per term - Ph.D.
Financial Aid: About 10 fellowships for each entering class; nearly the entire body of 2nd- and 3rd-year Ph.D. students in good standing are on a teaching fellowship; post-MPhil fellowships to teach Core Curriculum of Columbia College, and dissertation fellowships, are held by most Ph.D. students during the 4th, 5th, and 6th years. Department students compete for university and national fellowships as well.
Requirements
Entrance: GRE, German plus 1 other language, 3.5 GPA
M.A. 8 course hours, Master's paper, 1 language
M.Phil. 10 courses beyond M.A., additional languages, comprehensive oral exam
Ph.D. M.Phil., teaching, dissertation and defense
