Requirements
Entrance 1000 GRE, or 3.0 GPA (from last two years of bachelor's degree)
M.A.: 33 credit hours (27 semester hours of coursework and 6 thesis hours), graduate review, thesis, one language
Non-Thesis M.A.: See M.A. requirements, add 3 additional courses (total 36 semester hours coursework), no thesis hours or thesis
M.A./Ph.D.: Available to M.A. students by faculty invitation; see M.A. requirements (requires Qualifying paper that replaces thesis) and Ph.D. requirements - 84 credit hours total
Ph.D.: 99 semester hours including 33 semester hours from M.A., qualifying exams, French or German and second language relating to area of study, dissertation
