Architronic: The Electronic Journal of Architecture
Includes contents and downloadable pdfs for issues of this refereed journal from from December 1992 (volume 1, no. 1) through January 1999 (volume 8, no. 1).

ArchNet
Resource for designers and scholars with focus on the Islamic world. Includes searchable digital library of Islamic sites, access to a number of special collections, and course syllabi related to Islamic art and architecture. Requests registration, but it is not required.

ArchNewsNow
Lists links to current news about architectural projects from newspapers around the world.

Art & Architecture Thesaurus On Line  
Getty Research Institute site. Also includes links to the Getty Thesaurus of Geographic Names On Line and Union List of Artist Names On Line.

Artcyclopedia
Provides access to digital images of illustrators' work from "The Golden Age of Illustration" between the 1880's and 1920's.

Avery Architectural Index
Most SAH members will access Avery through their home institutions. This link is to RLG's description of the resource and includes a list of journals indexed. 

Bauhuas-Archive Museum for Design
Offers archives on the history of the Bauhaus, its people, workshops and production.

British Architectural Library
Royal Institute of British Architects

Canadian Heritage Information Network (CHIN) 
Collaboration of Canadian cultural institutions to make Canadian digital content available. Includes information on creating and managing digital content, searchable database of cultural artifacts, and links to Canadian resources in the reference library section of the site.

Chronological List of the Popes 
Commercial site advertising the Catholic Encyclopedia; includes links to biographical information on each Pope.

Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum
The Cooper Hewitt's eMuseum provides access to digital images of many objects in the museum's collection including product design, decorative arts, drawing, prints, graphic design, textiles and wall coverings.

Creative Commons
This website provides links to search engines that can be used to find images that are not protected by copyright.

Eames Office
Large digital archive of Eames design and blueprints including furniture, toys, accessories, etc.

English Heritage's National Monuments Record
A shortcut to the online collections section of English Heritage's website. Includes links to images, online databases and catalogs, information on resources of the National Monuments Record, and Archaeological Survey.

Environmental Design Libray
Guides to architectural research prepared by UC Berkeley

French Ministry of Culture and Communication
In French. Includes linked databases with information on French architecture and cultural heritage monuments. Includes images, thematic and regional breakdowns, and links to catalogs of French periodicals.

Grand Tradition
New site dedicated to the continuity of our collective architectural heritage, which is designed as a resource for visitors with an interest in classical architecture. The site features links to classical architects, recommended reading, e-books, downloadable CAD and PDF files of the classical Orders, links to organizations and a forum for the discussion of architecture, the allied arts, preservation and urbanism.

Historic American Building Survey/Historic American Engineering Record
National Park Service program to document important architectural, engineering, and industrial sites. Site includes link to searchable database administered by the Library of Congress.

Huntington Library Art Collections
The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens offers digital images from their art collections including, American paintings, American Sculpture, British drawings, British paintings, British Sculpture and William Morris Collection.

The online Prints and Photographs Catalogue offers digital images of much of the Prints and Photographs Division's holdings including architecture, design and engineering, among other categories.

Museum of Modern Art
Digital images of over seven thousand objects in the Museum's collection including architecture and design drawings, painting, sculpture, photography, prints and illustrated books, film and media.

National Historic Landmarks Program
United States National Park Service program that identifies nationally significant historic places. Includes search feature and list of National Historic Landmarks by state.

National Monuments Record Thesauri
English Heritage

National Register of Historic Places
Broader National Park Service list of significant districts, buildings, sites, and objects worthy of preservation. Reference Desk section of site links to National Register Information System (NRIS) that includes a searchable database and breakdowns by theme studies.

New York Public Library
550,000 digital images under the categories of illuminated manuscripts, historical maps, vintage posters, rare prints, photographs, illustrated books, printed ephemera, etc.

Nineteenth-Century Art Worldwide: a journal of nineteenth-century visual culture
Links to full text articles from Nineteenth-Century Art Worldwide, a refereed e-journal devoted to the visual culture of the nineteenth century including architecture.

Smithsonian Institution
The Online Resources in Art and Design offers a collection of digital images including architecture and gardens, crafts, folk and decorative arts, film, theatre and TV, graphic art, industrial design, music, painting, photography, sculpture, stamps, letters and coins, writing and literature.

Society for Industrial Archeology
Links related to IA, The Journal of the Society for Industrial Archeology. Summary of contents available; searchable index 1975-1994 only. 

Stanford University
The Online Collection includes digital audio and video from the R. Buckminster Fuller collection and links to other important collections.

Wolfsonian-Florida International University Modern Dutch Collection
The Wolfsonian's digital image collection is accessible via PALMM, Publication of Archival and Museum Materials. PALMM is a cooperative initiative of the public universities of Florida to provide digital access to important source materials for research and scholarship. Scroll down on the page and click on The Wolfsonian-FIU Modern Dutch Collection. This searchable database currently consists of roughly 900 records and images from the Wolfsonian's collection of Dutch artifacts, including rare book covers, calendars, proofs, advertisements, and original sketches dating from the late nineteenth century through the mid-twentieth century. Other parts of the museum's Dutch collection, including glassware, textiles, furniture, and design drawings, will be added to the database soon.

Vernacular Architecture Newsletter Bibliography 1979-97
Searchable database of bibliographic citations compiled from the quarterly newsletter of the Vernacular Architecture Forum and augmented by forum members.

Victoria & Albert Museum
43,000 images from the V&A collection including ceramics, fashion, furniture, glass, metalwork, paintings, photography, prints, sculpture, and textiles.

Visual Arts Data Service
Provides access to the digital archives of many organizations including the African and Asian Visual Arts Archive, The Imperial War Museum's poster archive and the design archives of a number of Universities.
