How to access paper sessions and other important info for the SAH 2021 Virtual Conference

Know Before You Go

 

The SAH 2021 Virtual Conference is almost here! This email contains important information you need to know such as how to access paper sessions and programs, tips for using the online program, and where to find out which speakers have opted in to sharing their videos online after the conference. Please read this email carefully and reach out to us at if you still have questions.

Before the Conference

 

Log into the SAH Website

Take the time now to log into the SAH website. You will be required to log in to enter the virtual conference and access paper sessions. If you need help logging in, please contact Anne Bird at 312-573-1365 or as soon as possible.

Download the PDF Schedule

We created a that notes which speakers have opted in to having their videos available for viewing for 30 days after the conference. The schedule is a supplement to the and is offered for those who wish to print it out and use it for planning. (An alternative to printing out the schedule is to add events/paper sessions to your calendar using the Oxford Abstracts online program. See below.)

 

Tips for Using the Online Program

  • Please note that the conference program times are in Central Daylight Time (CDT). You can adjust the time zone when using the Oxford Abstracts online program (see ). The default time for the online program is CDT.
  • Each session/event has three icons at the top right corner that allow you to download the paper abstracts/description, add the session/event to your calendar (see ), and view the session/event in full screen mode.
  • When viewing the paper session, you can click on a paper title to view the abstract.
  • You can search the program for speakers (see )

Download or Update Zoom

Use the Zoom Client for Meetings for the best experience. Download the latest version of Zoom here: . If you already downloaded Zoom, please check for updates. If you are unable to download Zoom, you will still be able to join through your browser, although your experience may be limited.

 

Save Your Panelist Invite if You Are a Session Chair or Speaker

All session chairs and speakers should have received their panelist invite. (If you did not receive your panelist invite, please email as soon as possible.) The invite includes the link to join your session/webinar as a panelist. Reminder invites will be sent the day before your session and one hour before your session starts. Session chairs and speakers will have to log in as attendees (see below) when attending sessions other than their own.

 

SAH Social Media Policy

Conference papers/presentations may not be shared on social media, photographed, recorded, or otherwise disseminated unless the speaker otherwise specifies. Attendees are expected to respect this policy and act accordingly.

Social Hour

Kick off the SAH 2021 Virtual Conference by joining us for a fun social hour! We'll have breakout rooms named after buildings in Montréal where you can meet, mingle, and network with other conference attendees.

Access Paper Sessions and Events

Attendees will enter the Conference Portal on the SAH website to access paper sessions and events.

On the Conference Portal page you will find the schedule for the day along with links to join the paper sessions and programs for that day (see ). The Portal will be updated daily.

 

If You Have Trouble Accessing the Conference

If you have trouble accessing the virtual conference at any time, please DO NOT HESITATE to contact us at 312-573-1365 or . Staff members are ready to answer your calls and emails. We are here to help! Please be patient with us as we do our best to assist you.

 

Session Format

Sessions will start at 10:00 am CDT, 12:30 am CDT, and 3:00 pm CDT. Each session will begin with a few “housekeeping” items, followed by an introduction to the session by the chair(s). All talks have been pre-recorded and will be run according to the program schedule. If a talk runs a few minutes short, the webinar host will let attendees know that the next talk will begin in a few minutes, and the talk will start as scheduled. Video of the speakers and session chair(s) who are participating live will be brought up at the end of the session, and a live discussion will discussion will take place. Attendees will use the Q&A feature to type in their questions. Attendees are welcome to enter and exit sessions to view the papers of their choice.

 

Virtual Exhibit Hall

We encourage you to reach out to the press contacts provided if you would like to discuss your work and interests. The Exhibit Hall is free and open to the public. CASVA Alumni Reunion

April 14, 9 am CDT on Zoom

Watch Videos of Paper Presentations

Conference registrants will have access to watch over 120 recorded paper presentations on demand for 30 days (beginning Sunday, April 18, and ending Tuesday, May 18). Speakers who have opted in to sharing their presentations are noted in the . An email will be sent with more information and instructions for accessing the videos.

 

Share Your Feedback

Please share your feedback and suggestions by taking our conference survey, which will be emailed in late April. The survey results help us make improvements and plan for future conferences.
