Society of Architectural Historians will require all attendees, exhibitors, volunteers, and staff to provide proof of vaccination to participate in the SAH 2022 Annual International Conference. This includes all events/programming that take place at the Westin Pittsburgh, all off-site venues and all tours.
By what date do I need to be vaccinated by to participate in SAH 2022?
Participants are considered fully vaccinated two weeks (14 days) after they have completed either the second dose in a two-dose series (e.g. Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca) or after a single dose of a one dose vaccine (e.g. Johnson & Johnson). Mixed vaccines will also be accepted (e.g. one dose of Moderna and one dose of Pfizer). Participants should complete their final vaccine by April 13, 2022, to be considered fully vaccinated for SAH 2022. For the safety of all attendees, we encourage all who are able/eligible to get a booster vaccine.
Which vaccines will you accept to participate in the conference?
We will accept WHO-approved vaccines, plus vaccines authorized or approved by the national health authority of the country where it was administered. The full list of accepted vaccines is as follows:

- Novavax COVID-19 vaccine
- Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine
- Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine

- Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine
- Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine
- CanSino COVID-19 vaccine
- Covaxin COVID-19 vaccine
- CoviVac COVID-19 vaccine
- Covishield (Serum Institute of India) COVID-19 vaccine
We will also accept a mix of two of the above vaccines (e.g. one dose of Moderna and one dose of Pfizer vaccines). If the vaccine you have received is not listed above, please contact us at info@sah.org for further clarification.
How do I verify my COVID-19 vaccination?
All attendees, exhibitors and volunteers must provide proof of full vaccination to enter the SAH 2022 conference. Please visit the SAH website here. SAH will be partnering with a verification system and once details are finalized, we will provide information on how to provide proof of vaccination.
Will I also need to provide proof of a COVID-19 booster shot?
No. Fully vaccinated is defined by the CDC as two weeks after a second dose in a two-dose series, or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine. For the safety of all attendees, we encourage all who are able/eligible to get a booster vaccine.
Will exceptions to your COVID-19 vaccine requirement be accepted?
No, we are unable to make any exceptions to the requirement to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Will I have to wear a mask during SAH 2022?
Masks are required for all attendees, exhibitors, volunteers and staff of the Society of Architectural Historians and the Westin Pittsburgh while indoors.
Is social distancing in place at SAH 2022?
SAH is planning the conference to provide as much space as possible for the comfort and safety of participants.
Will there be hand sanitizing stations at SAH 2022?
SAH will have hand sanitizing stations throughout the designated SAH meeting spaces.
