#GivingTuesday Success

by SAH News | Dec 04, 2017

Thanks to our generous supporters, in just ONE DAY we were able to raise over $5,000 for SAH Archipedia, our digital encyclopedia of architecture and landscapes in the US. Donations came in through our #GivingTuesday donation page, fundraisers set up on our Facebook page, and offline contributions, making this our most successful #GivingTuesday to date.

#GivingTuesday funds will be matched dollar-for-dollar through a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, which brings the total raised to more than $10,000.
 This money will go toward:

- Commissioning teachers to write lesson plans
- Commissioning authors to give lectures
- Commissioning leading historians to write new essays and building entries
- Updating content drawn from the Buildings of the United States series
- Redesigning the site for optimal viewing on mobile devices

With the #GivingTuesday donations we are on our way toward meeting our NEH matching grant of $80,000. If you were unable to participate in #GivingTuesday and would still like to support SAH Archipedia or other SAH initiatives, you can donate online at

We are so grateful for your support of our mission to promote the study, interpretation, and conservation of the built environment worldwide for the benefit of all. Thank you!
