Carolyn-Garrett-Pauline-Saliga-NEH-Chairman-William-AdamsOn October 30, 2015, SAH welcomed William Adams, Chairman of NEH, to Charnley-Persky House. Adams met with SAH Director Pauline Saliga and Development Director Carolyn Garrett to discuss NEH’s long-term support of the Buildings of the United States publishing project and the online edition of the BUS books, SAH Archipedia. Over the past 25 years, NEH has contributed $1.4 million in support to both projects and SAH has raised more than $4 million in matching funds. They also discussed the history and restoration of SAH’s headquarters, Charnley-Persky House, and SAH’s pending grant request to add new interpretive essays to SAH Archipedia and to launch a nationwide series of discussions about the history of historic and contemporary buildings and landscapes. We at SAH were honored by the Chairman’s visit and his interest in our long-term and successful publishing project on American history.

To help celebrate NEH’s 50th anniversary, SAH Director Pauline Saliga will participate on a panel, “Past, Present, and Future: NEH at 50,” on February 5, 2016, at the CAA annual conference in Washington, DC.
