SAH Hires New Director of Programs

CKheadshot_200x200Christopher Kirbabas joins the Society of Architectural Historians as its new director of programs, having worked in not-for-profit associations for the past 19 years as a meeting professional. Previous organizations Kirbabas has worked for include Healthcare Information & Management Systems Society, American Massage Therapy Association and most recently, the Association of Legal Administrators. His roles and responsibilities have included planning numerous committee and board meetings, regional programs as well as annual national conferences ranging in size from 1,200 attendees and exhibitors up to 19,500 at locations all over North America. Prior to his career as a meeting professional, he worked in the Chicago theatre community as a marketing director as well as a stage manager for numerous productions and theatre companies around Chicago.  

Founded in 1940, the Society of Architectural Historians is an international nonprofit membership organization that promotes the study, interpretation and conservation of architecture, design, landscapes and urbanism worldwide. SAH serves a network of local, national and international institutions and individuals who, by profession or interest, focus on the built environment and its role in shaping contemporary life. SAH promotes meaningful public engagement with the history of the built environment through advocacy efforts, print and online publications, and local, national and international programs.
