The Mies van der Rohe Society, in partnership with Illinois Tech’s College of Architecture, is pleased to
bring you an evening through the lens of acclaimed filmmaker, June Finfer alumna. You will
experience actual footage of the Tugendhat House and hear about i hand from our presenters, art
historian Daniela Tugendhat and her husband, preserve Ivo Hammer, who are currently working to
maintain and share one of the most influential homes of the 20th century.
Join host and moderator, Cynthia Vranas Olsen (M.S. ARCH ‘01, Ph.D. ‘17) and hear the dynamic
collaborative effort between Mies and Lilly Reich to make Tugendhat House the words of Daniela
Tugendhat and Ivo Hammer, “Mies’s finest residential project.” Commentators include Jong Soung Kimm (ARCH '61, M.S. ‘64); Dirk Lohan, alumnus, Reed Kroloff, dean; and Martin Felsen, Masters of Architecture program director, College o Architecture, IIT.

Sevilla and Débora Domingo-Calabuig from the Universitat Politècnica de València.
