Join the board of SAH MDR virtually for our annual general meeting Tuesday, June 24 from 12:00pm to 1:30pm, Pacific. We’ll review what we have been up to over the past year, announce this year’s Elisabeth Walton Potter Research Award recipient, and look forward to our upcoming programs and events.

We are thrilled to welcome special guest Amalia Leifeste, an Associate Professor and the new director of the Historic Preservation Program at the University of Oregon. Amalia Leifeste began her architectural studies at the University of Oregon; earned a post-professional Master of Architecture degree, as well as certificates in historic preservation and sustainable design, from the University of Texas at Austin; and most recently has been serving as Associate Professor at Clemson University's Historic Preservation program in Charleston, South Carolina.

In research and through her teaching, Ms. Leifeste is interested in how we educate preservation practitioners, how place fosters group identity, and in defining how much and what kind of change can keep buildings useful for current needs without erasing essential touchstones of meaning for people who care about their historic places.

As our guest, she will share brief remarks about her new appointment and her vision for the U of O Historic Preservation Program.

All are welcome, membership is not required.
