Call for Papers: SESAH 2025 Annual Meeting and Conference

The Southeast Chapter of the Society of Architectural Historians (SESAH) is now accepting proposals for papers or sessions to be presented at the 2025 SESAH Conference to be held in Asheville, North Carolina, from September 23-26, 2025. The paper sessions will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, September 24–25. Please submit paper and/or session proposals via this link by May 2, 2025.
We encourage submissions from architectural, landscape, preservation, and urban historians; independent scholars, architects; architectural theorists; museum curators; and other scholars in related fields. Submissions from undergraduate and graduate students in these fields are also welcome. Participants need not work in, reside in, or focus their research within the twelve-state SESAH region (states listed on our website). However, all accepted presenters and session chairs must be SESAH members in good standing and register for the conference by the Presenter/Session Chair registration deadline of September 2, 2025. Registration fees will be waived for students with a valid ID. The registration fee for members will be $250 with a $50 discount for spouses/partners. We will offer study tour(s) at an extra cost. If accepted presenters have not registered by September 2, 2024, they will be removed from the schedule. Accepted presenters must also submit complete text of their papers to their session chair by August 29, 2025. SESAH reserves the right to drop presenters who do not register or submit a paper to their session chair by the stated deadlines. Individual paper presentations are limited to 20 minutes maximum (approximately 2,300 to 2,500 words.)
