VARIA, published since 2019, adheres to the definition of the Real Academia EspaƱola (RAE) for its content structure, which defines it as "a series of books, brochures, single sheets or documents, of different authors, subjects or sizes, gathered in volumes, bundles or boxes." VARIA publishes original texts on the history and theory of architecture in the Spanish language, whose interests also differ in terms of chronological and geographical scope, as well as in terms of urban, territorial, design or landscape scales. One of the main objectives of VARIA is to bring together the intellectual concerns of architectural historians, whether or not they are members of the AhAU. Its content includes articles, essays, book reviews, exhibition reviews, commentaries on historical texts, annotated editions of original historical documents, and other genres of short texts submitted to the editorial board. After the publication of the fourth issue in 2023, authors are invited to submit their free topic proposals, which will be selected by the Scientific Committee according to standards of originality, relevance and coherence with the structure and content of the ongoing issue.
