The conference venue is Kennesaw State University College of Architecture at 1100 S. Hornet Drive, Marietta, Georgia. The conference hotel is the Marietta Hilton Hotel and Conference Center at 500 Powder Springs Street in Marietta; the conference room rate (single/double) is $189.00. PAPER AND SESSION PROPOSAL SUBMISSIONS
We encourage submissions from architectural, landscape, preservation, and urban historians; independent scholars, architects; architectural theorists; museum curators; and other scholars in related fields. Submissions from undergraduate and graduate students in these fields are also welcome. Participants need not work in, reside in, or focus their research within the Southeast or the twelve-state SESAH region. However, all accepted presenters and session chairs must join SESAH and register for the conference by the Presenter/Moderator/early bird registration deadline of August 8, 2024. If accepted presenters have not registered by August 8, 2024, they will be removed from the schedule. Accepted presenters must also submit complete text of their papers to their session chair by September 5, 2024. SESAH reserves the right to drop presenters who do not register or submit a paper to their session chair by the stated deadlines. Paper presentations are limited to 20 minutes maximum (approximately 2,300 to 2,500 words.)
Papers on any architectural history topic and session theme are welcome. In addition, we invite submissions addressing the following themes:

Collegiate Architecture and Campus Planning
The Changing Landscapes of Post-War America
Architectural Spaces of the Contested Past
The Architecture and Landscapes of the Rural South
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
All proposals for papers and sessions should be submitted at https://forms.gle/DXV6kjsbwHWhq3p99. If you are proposing a session, each speaker in the proposed session must submit an individual paper proposal. There are entry fields within the submission form to indicate whether or not you are proposing a session. Similarly, there are fields to indicate if you are also applying for a Student Travel Grant or an Emerging Professionals Travel Grant. If you are applying for one of these, make sure to check the appropriate box. Within the “5 Keywords/Phrases” field, please include 5 single words or short phrases that best categorize your paper. These are used for organizational purposes. Please be sure to submit all paper or session proposals by 11:59 PM CST on May 2, 2024.
CONFERENCE TRAVEL GRANTS
SESAH offers student travel grants and a travel grant for an emerging professional. All travel grants are for $1,000, and include a waived conference registration fee. Applicants need to fully complete the fields on the submission form in order to be applicable A guide for the necessary application materials can be found at https://sesah.org/funding-opportunities/. The grants support the recipient’s presentation of a scholarly paper at the conference as well as full attendance in conference activities, including paper sessions, business meeting, and keynote address. The grant should be used to cover travel expenses, including transportation, food, lodging, and/or other costs related to attending the conference. All grant applicants must submit full drafts of their papers by July 14, 2024, in order to be considered for the grant.
