Celebrating their Flagship High School "North" of Columbus Ohio.
The Columbus City Schools will celebrate The 100th Anniversary of North on June 29, 2024. Open House will be from 9 am to 4 pm. The 100th Anniversary program will be at 1:00 pm.
The Columbus Landmarks Foundation will hold a Members Only "Evening at North" on Thursday. The Columbus Chapter of the American Institute of Architects wild hold a walking tour for 60+ architects on Friday.
The purpose is for students, teachers, administrators along with their families and the city to assemble at the Architect of Record, Frank Packard's Masterpiece. Together on this day, all shall experience all of "North's Firsts", the heritage of its rich history, the traditions, and legacy of their Icon, the Flagship High School of Columbus, ... now in its 3rd century. Walking tours of the 4 level school, with the cities largest auditorium at 2000 seats, and "The Apartment" can be taken during this celebration. In 2000 the Polar Bear Alumni Association (PBAA) had placed North on the National and Columbus Register of Historic Places.
