This conference celebrates and showcases exciting new work by the New Jerusalems project to make available for the first time the collections of 11 New Towns. This has been achieved through the support of the Wellcome Trust with a  £420K grant.  

The New Town archives offer rich, underutilised resources for researchers across many disciplines — from urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture, and geography to cultural studies and 20th century history. 

This conferences is about looking forward - to building new collaborative opportunities across academia, archives, museums, and history centres.

The conference will offer:
 

  • Insights into the archival collections and how they can be used

  • A chance to deepen your skills using archives in research projects

  • Opportunities for interdisciplinary networking and dialogue

  • A forum to take forward future collaborations and funding opportunities
