Dr. Danielle Willkens Talks Architecture with Teens in Atlanta

Apr 20, 2021 by SAH News
On Saturday, April 17th, Dr. Danielle Willkens participated in a Teen Jam program conducted by the Museum of Design Atlanta.

The program asks, "Do you have a favorite building? Maybe you’ve visited the building multiple times or maybe you’ve only seen it in pictures, but there is something about that place that has captured your attention. In this presentation, we'll start to explore how to 'read' buildings. Works of architecture have the wonderful ability to speak across the ages in order to give us clues about the people, values, and priorities of different cultures and eras! We will also explore some digital design tools."

In this Teen Jam, an outreach program of the Museum of  Design Atlanta, Dr. Danielle Willkens,  a practicing designer, researcher, and FAA Certified Remote Pilot brought architectural engagement to diverse audiences through interactive projects.

More About MODA Teen Jams:
Students are invited to actively engage with designers from various backgrounds during a 2-hour workshop. Each month a designer will speak about their work, answer questions students might have, and help lead participants through an activity based on their field.
