SAH to Host Book Sale at its Headquarters in Chicago

BIG BOOK SALE, Saturday July 12, Chicago, IL to benefit the Charnley-Persky House Museum

The Society of Architectural Historians will host a book sale at its landmark headquarters, the Charnley-Persky House (weather permitting), on Saturday, July 12 from 10am-1pm. The sale will take place in the driveway behind the house at 1365 North Astor Street in Chicago.

Find unbeatable prices for new and like-new architecture and design titles, monographs, and books on gardens, landscapes, urban planning, and other built environment topics. Hardcovers editions will be available at $5 each, paperbacks for $3 each.

Proceeds will help support the maintenance of the Charnley-Persky House (1891–1892), designed by Louis Sullivan with assistance from Frank Lloyd Wright. The interior of the house will be open for two docent-guided tours during the sale beginning at 10am and 12pm. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own bag and arrive early for the best selection of books. SAH accepts cash or card (Visa, MasterCard, AmEx, Discover) payment. Parking is available in public garages in the area. Limited street spots may be available nearby.
