Historic Rehabilitation: The Old Post Office

Telegram Lounge interiorThe Society of Architectural Historians will honor the team behind one of Chicago’s most ambitious projects, the historic rehabilitation of the long-vacant, 2.8 million-square-foot Post Office, which has been brought back to life as a hub for business and commerce. Join us for an in-person celebration at The Old Post Office. The awards ceremony will be followed by a reception in the spacious, 4,910-square-foot Telegram Lounge, complete with east-facing view of the Chicago River, wrap-around bar, bocce lane, and pool table. Enjoy drinks, hors d'oeuvres, a silent auction, and great company in this unique space.

Support of SAH Celebrates (formerly the SAH Awards Gala) provides funding for SAH's educational programs and publications such as SAH Archipedia, an open-access encyclopedia of the built environment of the United States, and the award-winning Buildings of the United States book series. Proceeds also help support the restoration of the Charnley-Persky House (1891–92), designed by Louis Sullivan and Frank Lloyd Wright, which serves as SAH’s international headquarters in Chicago.
