The Marion Dean Ross/Pacific Northwest Chapter of the Society of Architectural Historians will be holding our third annual "mini" conference October 10-12, 2025 in Tacoma, Washington. This year we are again planning our event to be contiguous with Washington's PLACES conference, which will be October 8-10 in nearby in Gig Harbor.
As a direct response to the political and financial threats to our cultural institutions, we have selected the theme: "Resist, Reclaim, Restore: Preserving an Inclusive Heritage" for our 2025 mini conference. We are committed to supporting a deeper understanding of inclusive and underrepresented narratives in architectural history, ensuring our field retains and continues the progress it has made toward being more dynamic, relevant, and accessible to all.
Session Proposals
We are currently seeking proposals for traditional paper/panel sessions, or, get creative and propose a Pecha Kucha! We welcome proposals that explore the study, interpretation, and protection of historically significant places in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and BC, Canada.
Session proposals are due at 11:59pm, Friday, August 1, 2025.
