We are pleased to share the Call for Papers for the upcoming study days titled "Design Practices and Citizen Mobilizations: Dwelling, Resisting, Experimenting," which will take place in France, at ENSA Paris-La Villette and ENSA Versailles, on February 12–13, 2026.
These two days aim to examine contemporary urban planning conflicts and the evolving role of architecture and designers within them. We seek to create a pluralistic platform for dialogue among researchers, practitioners, activists, educators, artists, policymakers, and members of civil society. By exploring diverse case studies and critical practices, the event will highlight the complex and sometimes ambiguous relationships between the actors shaping urban spaces and the tools they employ. We welcome both theoretical reflections and grounded contributions such as fieldwork accounts, experiential feedback, or alternative approaches to spatial production.
Three main thematic axes will guide the discussions:
Legacies and Transformations of Ecological Mobilizations
Reconfiguring Professional Roles and Forms of Expertise
The Project and Its Publics: Tools, Narratives, Imaginaries
Location: Paris and Versailles, France Dates: February 12–13, 2026 Deadline for submissions: October 31, 2025
Proposals (including a title, an abstract of up to 2,500 characters, a short bio, and institutional affiliation) should be sent to: ppmc2026@gmail.com
